The Minions is an American 3D computer-animated film released on November 5th, 2015. It was directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, and written by Brian Lynch and Pierre Coffin. The film stars the voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm as Scarlet Overkill and Herb Overkill, respectively. The movie that gained $115 million the first day domestically, becoming the highest-grossing animated release for that weekend. It also received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success regardless of its mixed reception with a domestic gross of $336 million (a little over half of its worldwide gross), making it one of 2015's highest-grossing films worldwide. It was also nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the Academy Awards, but lost to Pixar's Inside Out. The Minions is the third highest-grossing animated film, behind Shrek 2 and Toy Story 3. In August 2015, the film was re-dubbed in Hindi as "Minions: Jhuk Gaya Aap Ke Peechhe" along with a dubbed Malayalam version "Mini Jaragayum Vazhum Kazcha".After a prequel titled Minions released on December 21, 2015. As they are about to sing "Happy Birthday", Scarlet Overkill, the world's first female supervillain, interrupts the celebration to announce that she is holding their parents hostage in order to get her hands on their magical powers. After escaping the house with her three children named Dru, Grug, and Bratt, Gru reluctantly agrees to help Scarlet find a special transformer that was invented by the scientist of the Anti-Villain League. They go to the AVL headquarters in order to search for it. Scarlet then sends her kids to steal it. After they retrieve the transformer, Scarlet decides to go in to the headquarters in order to steal it for herself, but decides against it because she doesn't want her children to be hit by cars in the pursuit. Gru and his team are outside when Scarlet's henchmen arrive in order to get rid of them. They find out that Gru has acquired the AVL transformer and head off with Bratt. When they leave, Scarlet enters her hideout but is captured by Edith's scream-tilting powers, which are used for spying on villains. The team gets disgusted with Scarlet's plans. She then finds out that Gru has taken the AVL transformer, finds out where the Minions are, and heads for her hideout. Her children take over the base in order to defeat all of the security measures remotely. They take her to her room where she finds an escape pod, but it is already piloted by Dru. When Scarlet finds out that Dru used her powers to get inside, she becomes furious and shoots him in revenge, wounding him. Luckily for Scarlet, Bratt used his powers to move Dru's pod closer to where he is being held hostage. cfa1e77820
